Day 74: A Perfect Cloudy Haze

(Sonora Pass, 1018.5 to 1034.5 = 16 miles)

It was a gorgeous cloud morning.  One if the bluest yet.
We hit trail just after 9 a.m. this morning.  Not too bad considering last night's festivities.  There were six of us hikers up and at them for a final restaurant breakfast and another generous ride to the pass.

Fantastic rock formations would be the sights of the week!
This morning's hike was beautiful, made even more so by rare clouds.  It was a perfect way to return to the trail, peaceful and scenic.  Afternoon warmed up quickly, but then the clouds thickened and kept the temperature moderate and the lighting a slightly hazy gold.  Which, again, was just right.  The first day back on trail after town is always a little rough, and today was no exception.  But, with the views and then the clouds, we were able to just sort of truck along.

After such a wonderful morning, the clouds rolled and hazed over the physical and mental landscape ...
By 6:30 p.m., we had put in the miles we wanted for the day (15 was the goal) and were able to settle into another ridge for another night of breezy cowboy camping.  The sun has just set.  It is not even hiker midnight, and I am calling it a night!  Tomorrow, we'll be back in the groove ...
