Day 64: Passing With Flying Colors

(917.5 to 930, Donohue Pass = 12.5 miles)

Agnew Pass and the site of second breakfast. (I found a spine!)

It is 8 p.m., and we are ready for bed.  Gumby was asleep by 7:30.  Why the early night?  Well, rumor has it that bears get bad on the canyon floor any closer to Tuolumne Meadows than this.

Thousand Island Lake.  Beautiful!
We had plenty of hiking left in us today, but nowhere to go.  So, we took long breaks, played in the river, did laundry, and still got into camp early.  Did I mention we had three passes?  Oh, two probably don't really count, but they were labeled as passes, and we did headstands all the same.

Island Pass and the site of lunch.
Today, we felt like JMT hikers.  In fact, camp all set up by 6:30, we were asked by some passing PCT hikers if we were JMT hikers.  :)  That's when we knew we'd done our easy day right!  I will return some day as a JMT hiker and take twice the time for the Sierras.  It is well worth another visit.

River fun!
Tomorrow, we get up early and cruise downhill to Tuolumne.  We should meet up with my friend sometime past noon.  We have a good 12.5 miles to do; hoping to put these Sierra legs into high and get in before 1 p.m.  We'll see!

Donohue Pass, 11064', and the most difficult for the day.

Headstands for Donohue. And the site of dinner. I guess we ate our way through the passes today!
